The role of packaging in the sale of goods

A large number of competitors among the same type or similar products forces the manufacturer to look for ways to stand out on the counter. It is enough to choose buy package corresponding to the product in order to significantly affect the number of sales. In addition, additional packaging plays the role of protecting the goods during transportation.

First impression, the most important thing

Glancing at the goods on the shelf, almost any buyer first of all stops his attention on the most attractive packaging. And only then begins to compare the cost, weight and other indicators with competitors. The manufacturer has about 5-7 seconds to win the attention of a potential buyer. Other criteria for the importance of packaging selection should be added:

  • association with a particular brand or product;
  • ease of use by the consumer;
  • standard or non-standard design;
  • the ability to apply a label or your own logo;
  • all the optimal storage conditions for products.

Not all packaging will allow easy or high-quality application of logos and labels on its surface. This nuance must be taken into account even before a preference is made in one direction or another. In any case, packaging plays an important role in storing, promoting goods and attracting the attention of a potential consumer.

What the customer can expect

There is an unimaginable number of different packaging for goods. For each type of product, packaging manufacturers produce their own containers or boxes. They are available in both standard and custom sizes. The most popular and sought after are:

  1. Plastic and glass jars with lids.
  2. Vials for strong-smelling substances, perfumes, lotions.
  3. Bottles of various volume and lids (dispensers) to them.
  4. Tubes and plastic containers in demand for creams.
  5. Paper bags and cardboard boxes.

The last type of packaging is considered the most versatile, and therefore in demand among manufacturers of goods. Unlike glass and plastic, it is much easier to apply both a plain and a color logo on a paper base.
