According to preliminary data Ukrmetallurgprom, metallurgical plants of Ukraine smelted 20.55 million tons of steel in 2020, which is 1.4% less than in 2019.
Pig iron production in Ukraine in 2020 increased by 1.5% and amounted to 20.36 million tons. The output of finished rolled metal products increased by 0.7% to 18.34 million tons.
In 2019, the metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine smelted 20.848 million tons of steel, which is 1.2% less than in 2018.
Steel production in Ukraine, Fitch analysts forecast at the end of 2019 to remain well below pre-war levels for the foreseeable future.
