India is among two of the world's top ten steel producers that recorded an increase in steel output between January and March 2022 compared to the corresponding period last year, said Union Steel Minister Ram Chandra Prasad Singh, citing the data World Steel Association.
The country, he said, produced 31.9 million tons of steel over the period, up 5.9%. In March 2022, with a production of 10.9 million tons, the production growth rate was 4.4%. Brazil is another country that registered growth in March. In a tweet, the minister congratulated Indian steel mills on their achievement.
