ArcelorMittal Temirtau Metallurgical Plant introduces new automated technologies. As part of the program to improve production safety in the converter shop, the enterprises commissioned a robotic measuring unit - the first horizontal handling system for sampling.

The manipulator is used to measure the temperature and oxidation of the melt. Currently, converter No. 1 is equipped with it, and later the innovation is planned to be introduced on converters No. 2 and No. 3.

“The Austrian engineering company created the device taking into account the local technological process. Within 10 seconds, and steelmakers receive oxygen, temperature, and samples necessary for assessing the quality. Human participation is minimized, thereby increasing production safety,” the company says.
