The recent acquisition of Newtrax strengthens Sandvik's digital mining position by allowing multi-vendor mining equipment to be connected to the My Sandvik fleet management portal.
More than 3,000 Sandvik vehicles are currently connected to My Sandvik, OptiMine® and AutoMine® systems. Thanks to wireless IoT technologies developed by Newtrax, the system will work with third-party equipment by the end of 2019.
My Sandvik, a cloud-based fleet management portal, gives customers access to a rich arsenal of digital solutions. The system allows real-time monitoring of the level of performance and technical condition of equipment using detailed reports and visual presentation of data for making informed decisions.
Michaël Bruninx, VP of Parts Sales and Services at Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology, comments: “The ability to manage a mixed fleet of mining equipment with My Sandvik is the next step in the portal's evolution. In reality, most of our customers' enterprises are equipped with equipment from different manufacturers. Sandvik digital solutions have been successfully deployed at more than 170 manufacturing sites around the world and we are pleased to provide scalability. ”
