Local service centres, rewinders and coil manufacturers are seeing an increase in orders from the automotive sector compared to the fourth quarter of 2022.

Italian car production on the rise

Italian passenger car production increased in February, according to preliminary data from the Associazione Nazionale Filiera Industria Industria Automobilistica (Anfia), an association of local automakers.

Car production increased 7.6% year-on-year to 42 058 units and up 3.6% year-on-year in the first two months of the year.

By comparison, Spanish car production increased by 17.9% in February to 179,289 vehicles, while German production rose sharply by 24% to 382,600 units. UK car production also increased by 13.1% to 69,707 vehicles, according to Anfia.

Italian passenger car production increased by 6.6% year-on-year in 2022 to 473,149 units. Anfia registered 442,432 units produced in the country in 2021 and 451,718 units in 2020.

There are 23 car manufacturing plants in Italy. There are 17 factories in Spain, 31 in France and 42 in Germany.
