China's passenger car production and sales fell 4.3% and 3.4% year-on-year in July this year, according to data released on Thursday by the China Automobile Industry Association (CAAM).
According to the association, last month the production of passenger cars in the country amounted to 2.12 million units, and their sales reached 2.1 million units.
In the first seven months of this year, the volume of production of such cars in the country amounted to 13.4 million units, which is 6% more than a year earlier. Meanwhile, their sales over the same period increased by 6.7% to 13.37 million units.
In July of this year, exports of cars from China soared by 35.1% in annual terms to 392 thousand units.
In January-July 2023, this figure reached 2.53 million units, an increase of 67.9% compared to the same period last year.
