Rolls-Royce plans to showcase near-zero-emissions innovative engines at InnoTrans 2022 in Berlin in September.
Developments include a hydrogen fuel engine based on the successful MTU Series 4000 diesel engine for the locomotive market, hydrogen fuel cells, and battery packs for use in hybrid and electric vehicles.
The company estimates that its MTU Hybrid PowerPacks, which combine a battery pack with a cleaner, more efficient diesel engine, can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 75%.
Rolls-Royce will also promote its support for overhaul, refurbishment and lifecycle services through long-term service contracts designed to reduce costs and minimize resource use.
