Ferroalloy enterprises of Ukraine in total reduced output by 27.6%

Ferroalloy enterprises of Ukraine in January-July this year in total reduced output by 27.6% compared to the same period last year - up to 360.17 thousand tons.

As Interfax-Ukraine was informed by the Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Producers (UkrFA), in January-July, the production of silicomanganese decreased by 17.5% - to 319.66 thousand tons, ferromanganese - by 67.6% - to 19.98 thousand tons. In addition, the production of ferrosilicon (in terms of 45%) decreased by 60.5% - to 18.11 thousand tons, metallic manganese by 55.6% - to 1.81 thousand tons. It also produced 0.61 thousand tons of other ferroalloys.

Pokrovsky (formerly Ordzhonikidzevsky) and Marganets Mining and Processing Plants (PGOK and MGOK, both in the Dnipropetrovsk region), mining and enriching manganese ore, produced a total of 777.52 thousand tons of manganese ore in seven months of 2022.

At the same time, MGOK produced 294.68 thousand tons of concentrate (a decrease of 5.6%), YuGOK - 482.84 thousand tons (less by 26.5%). Pokrovsky Mining and Processing Plant also produced 29.55 thousand tons of iron ore sinter in 7 months (less than 82.7% compared to January-July 2021), supplying it to PrJSC "Dneprovsky Metallurgical Plant" (DMZ), which is part of the businessman's DCH Steel Alexander Yaroslavsky.

In March-July, YuGOK did not produce iron ore sinter, as the DMZ suspended the production of metal products.
