Iran's steel exports during the eleven months period from March 21, 2019 February 19, 2020 increased by 28 percent compared to the same period last year to 6.5 million tons, according to the Agency IRNA.
Although at the beginning of may last year, the US imposed new sanctions against Iran in the metals sector, a report published by the world steel Association (WSA), as well as Iranian organizations, indicates that a new round of sanctions not only did not prevent the Iranian steel sector, but the industry also maintained a growth trend.
Recent report published by worldsteel shows that steel production in Iran rose by 46.7 per cent in January, while the global average growth rate was 2.1%.
the Association report indicates that in January of this year, Iran had produced 2,895 million tons of steel, which is 46.7% more than 1,971 million tons in January 2019.
WSA also reported that steel production in Iran rose by 30 percent in 2019, while the average global growth in this sector was 3.5 percent.
Data and reports published by Iranian organizations, also show that in the steel sector of the country is still experiencing growth in production and exports.
Latest data published by the Ministry of industry, mining and trade of Iran, show that the production of steel during the first ten months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2019 January 20, 2020), increased by 2.42 percent compared to the same period last year.
