On October 29, under the walls of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a joint protest action of the miners' trade unions - the Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine and the Trade Union of Coal Industry Workers - will take place. was reported by the chairman of the Independent of the miners' union Mikhail Volynets.

The miners will take to the streets to demand funds to pay off wage arrears. There will also be meetings and protests in the regions.

The main demand of the protesters is the allocation of 1 billion hryvnia for the payment of wage arrears, the amount of which as of October 21 is already 1.172 billion hryvnia.

The miners' collectives are determined and ready to stay in Kiev until a decision is made to allocate funds to pay off wage arrears, Volynets said.

Rane reported that the Verkhovna Rada has registered a government bill No. 2283 dated 10/17/2019 on amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2019 ", which provides for an increase in expenses for solving priority and priority tasks.

In particular, the bill provides for the allocation of 1 billion hryvnia to "balance the financial condition of state-owned coal mining enterprises and provide financial sources for the payment of wages to miners, as well as to prevent the mines from disconnecting from the electricity supply."
