A commission has been created to investigate the rock collapse. Rostekhnadzor announced the suspension of coal mining.
There was no explosion in the mine. The body of the deceased miner was raised to the surface.
“According to preliminary information, the collapse occurred at the time the victim was carrying out work on breaking the rock mass with a combine harvester,” the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kemerovo Region said in a statement.
The Yubileynaya mine extracts grade Zh coal, which is used for the production of coke, iron and steel smelting. The enterprise is part of the Topprom holding. Its leader is a defendant in criminal cases of commercial bribery of importers and bribery.
