The National Association of the Extractive Industry of Ukraine thanked the People's Deputies who supported in the first reading the bill 4187 "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Concerning Support for the Development of Domestic Subsoil Use Industries.
"We are grateful to the profile committee of the Verkhovna Rada, its head Oleg Bondarenko and the initiator of the bill Pavel Yakimenko for constructive work, public communication and taking into account the voice of the subsoil use sphere," the association said.
In the first reading, 292 deputies voted for the bill, supporting an important and necessary document for the extractive industry.
The bill proposes the introduction of an assessment of mineral reserves in accordance with international standards, improvement of the calculation of the cost of special permits when expanding the boundaries of the site, free circulation of special permits and the abolition of the approval of local councils.
The bill took into account the warnings of the association regarding the abolition of the rule on "payment for the continuation of special permits." According to this norm, subsoil users had to pay an additional 20% of the amount that they had already paid when purchasing a special permit.
The Association counts on support for the draft law in the second reading and declares that it is ready for professional discussions with all MPs who doubt the advisability of adopting this document, which is necessary for the extractive industry.
