General Director of "Operator of the gas transportation system of Ukraine" (OHTSU) Sergey Makogon in exclusive interview to Agency "Interfax-Ukraine" he said that will be the gas transportation system of the country. According to him, Ukraine plans to reconstruct the CTA under the transit capacity of 40 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
"Now we have an understanding of what is likely to be plus or minus 40 billion cubic meters, and under these facilities, we will restructure the system. This means that we will invest in upgrading only those compressor stations to be used, and the rest will be gradually decommissioned. We are now preparing a feasibility study to optimize the system," he said.
According to him, required in this case is the solution to this optimization from the side of the Cabinet.
"the tubes Themselves to dig, no one will, because it is not economically feasible. The costs of their extraction, land reclamation, etc. do not cover the cost of the metal. These pipes will be lowered pressure, respectively, will be subject to less demand for routine work, rarely need to diagnose," said Makogon.
Chapter OHTSU believes that the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine's GTS in the amount of 40 billion cubic meters and will continue after 2024.
the New agreement between "Naftogaz" and "Gazprom" on the organization of transport, transport agreement between NAC and the new OHTSU operator and inter-operator agreement between OHTSU and Gazprom signed late in the evening of 30 December 2019 on the basis of tripartite gas talks Ukraine-Russia-European Commission.
the Contract involves transit in 2020 at least 65 billion cubic meters of Russian gas, which in a daily basis is 178 million cubic meters. In the years 2021-2024 transit will amount to 40 billion cubic meters. Payment of the above amounts is guaranteed even in the case of smaller pumping through the Ukrainian gas transportation system.
