In November 2021, about 1,400 tons of liquid medical oxygen produced by the Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant on a free basis were received by hospitals in Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, Sumy, Kiev, Zhytomyr, Kharkov, Kherson, Donetsk, Lugansk, Nikolaev, Khmelnitsk regions. p>
In total, from April to November 2021, the Zaporozhye Metallurgical Plant shipped about 3,700 tons of medical oxygen for the needs of Ukrainian hospitals. The largest amount of medical oxygen for the entire period of its shipment by the plant was received by the city hospitals of Zaporozhye and the regional infectious diseases hospital - more than 2200 tons.
Recall that the Zaporizhzhya Regional Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital is the main COVID hospital of the region, where Zaporizhstal and Metinvest, with the support of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, financed the construction of a modern oxygen station. In addition, the plant carried out a major overhaul of the department of the Zaporozhye Regional Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital, which had previously suffered from a fire, spending 6 million hryvnia for this purpose.
In addition to Zaporizhstal, three other companies of the Metinvest Group provide oxygen free of charge for the needs of Ukrainian hospitals. Starting in October, when an acute oxygen deficiency arose in Ukraine, the Metinvest Group, at the request of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, expanded the geography of oxygen supplies for the treatment of patients with COVID-19. The company's enterprises, in particular Zaporizhstal, ship oxygen free to 103 hospitals in 17 regions of Ukraine.
In October-November 2021, Metinvest enterprises shipped about 4400 tons of oxygen to hospitals in Ukraine. In general, Metinvest provides hospitals in the country with every fourth ton of oxygen free of charge. One ton of oxygen covers the needs of about a hundred patients.
As reported, in April 2021, Zaporizhstal of Metinvest Group received a registration certificate from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for the production of liquid oxygen for use as a medical drug. From that moment, the plant began to transfer oxygen to medical institutions of the Zaporozhye region on a free basis.
