The forecast for a 4% growth in annual production of steel and rolled products is based on the figures for January-November of the current year, summarized by the Ukrmetallurgprom association, the ministry specified.

By the end of 2021, metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine will increase steel production by 4% compared to 2020 - up to 21.444 million tons. This is stated in the background documents of the Ministry of Economy of the country.

The document states that the production of general rolled products will also increase by 4% - up to 19.175 million tons, and pig iron smelting will also grow - by 4%, to 21.238 million tons.

It is predicted that the production of Ukrainian pipes in 2021 may increase by 16% - up to 990 thousand tons, the production of refractories will increase by 9%, up to 240 thousand tons, and the output of sinter may increase by 4% - up to 33.158 million tons .

At the same time, the production of metallurgical coke in Ukraine in 2021 will decrease by 1%, to 9.541 million tons,

It is noted that if the current trends continue, the supply of scrap metal to metallurgical enterprises in 2021 will increase by 13% - up to 3.264 million tons.

As reported, in 10 months of this year, Ukraine produced 17.903 million tons of steel (105.5% over the same period last year), 15.986 million tons of rolled steel (105.4%), 0.82 million tons of pipe metal products (115 , 9%).
