The first private mining companies began to auction natural gas from their own production for the needs of social enterprises. This was reported in ExPro with a link to data of the exchange bulletin of the Ukrainian Energy Exchange (UEEX), where trading will be held at 15:00 Kyiv time.
The cheapest gas was offered by Kosul LLC, which put up for sale 60,000 cubic meters of gas at a starting price of UAH 6,153.6 (about $220) per thousand cubic meters, including VAT, on a prepaid basis.
The most expensive gas is sold by Esco-Sever LLC, which put up for sale 289.981 thousand cubic meters of fuel at a starting price of UAH 17,769.91 per thousand cubic meters with VAT on a prepaid basis. According to ExPro, the company's monthly production is over 50 million cubic meters.
At the beginning of the week, the price of natural gas on European stock exchanges began to fall. Futures for February at Europe's largest hub TTF fell more than 7 percent from the end of last week, once again dropping below $1,000 per thousand cubic meters to $987, according to the ICE exchange.
Decision of the government of Ukraine, private gas companies are obliged to sell part of their production on the stock exchange. The premium for private production was set no higher than 24%, for traders - 1%. But the limit applies only to 20% of the gas that companies will be required to sell on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange to traders supplying gas to food producers.
If the total private production in Ukraine per month is 400-440 million cubic meters, then 20% is 80-88 million. Companies can sell the rest of the produced gas to anyone at a free price.
