It is expected that in May-June 2022, after the conclusions of the necessary state examinations of the project are received, work will begin on the reconstruction of the largest hydroelectric power station in Ukraine, DneproHES. This was reported in the press service of Ukrhydroenergo.
“Today, the dam is almost 90 years old. This is a unique structure that has been and remains the main artery of the city for a long time, but the road crossing has already exhausted its operational life,” says Viktor Kucher, director of the Dnieper HPP.
Due to the complete modernization, the construction of the road complex will receive an extended service life.
Currently, in order to ensure the effective design and operation of engineering structures, geological studies of the soil are being carried out at the DneproHES in the places of future supports.
In autumn 2021, the Scientific and Technical Council of Ukrhydroenergo approved the implementation of the project "Reconstruction of a road crossing through the hydraulic structures of the Dniprovska HPP branch."
After the construction of the bridges in Zaporozhye is fully completed, the crossing over the Dnipro HPP dam will be closed for a full-scale reconstruction, Ukrhydroenergo warned.
