At all hydroelectric power plants in Ukraine, enhanced security methods have been introduced and preventive police measures are being taken, the press service of Ukrhydroenergo reported. The Kyiv hydroelectric power station has been taken under special protection, patrolling of which is carried out by units of the First Presidential Operational Brigade named after Hetman Petro Doroshenko together with employees of the National Guard of Ukraine.
It is noted that the main task of law enforcement officers is to ensure reliable protection of the facility, as well as to prevent unauthorized infiltrations of sabotage groups in order to carry out provocations to destabilize the situation in the region and in the state.
Law enforcement officers, in particular, check the documents of citizens and vehicles, patrol the area adjacent to the HPP.
Ukrhydroenergo stressed that the company continues to operate as usual, providing the United Energy System of Ukraine with electricity.
“Today, as always, Ukrhydroenergo provides peak load coverage, frequency and power regulation, as well as a mobile emergency reserve in the United Energy System of Ukraine. In response to the conditions associated with the deterioration of the socio-political situation in the state, the departmental paramilitary security of the company was transferred to an enhanced version of service. Thanks to these selfless people - professionals in their field - all our hydropower facilities are reliably protected,” commented Igor Sirota, General Director of the company.
