At the initiative of Ukrhydroenergo, the military personnel of the Western Territorial Administration of the National Guard of Ukraine took the Dniester hydroelectric power station in the Chernivtsi region under protection.
A complex of preventive measures will be carried out at the hydropower facility. In particular, patrolling the surrounding area and monitoring, assessing the situation around the hydroelectric power station, checking documents and vehicles.
“We are strengthening the protection of our facilities in the languages of the escalation of tension around the borders. The Dniester hydroelectric power station works stably and lives an ordinary life. The station staff clearly knows how to act in a given situation. We are working to meet the needs of the population for electricity and stable operation of the country's Unified Energy System,” said Vyacheslav Klim, director of the Dniester HPP.
The press service of Ukrhydroenergo noted that enhanced security methods were also applied at other Ukrainian hydroelectric power plants. The Kiev hydroelectric power station and the Dneprohydroelectric power station are already under the protection of the National Guard. The security forces of Kherson are patrolling the territory around the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station and the Antonovsky bridge around the clock.
The company continues to operate as usual, providing the United Energy System of Ukraine with electricity, Ukrhydroenergo emphasized.
