Ukrainian state company producing titanium raw materials "United Mining and Chemical Company" has received a license to supply electricity. The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the country's regulatory body on May 24.
United Mining and Chemical Company was formed in 2014 by combining the capacities of the Volnogorsk mining and smelting plant in the Dnipropetrovsk region and the Irshansky mining and processing plant in the Zhytomyr region. Concentrating production of titanium ore concentrates is carried out at these enterprises.
The company is 100% owned by the state represented by the State Property Fund of Ukraine. In 2021, the company received 413.8 million net profit, which is 12% higher than in 2020.
Ukraine in January-April this year reduced the export of titanium-containing ores and concentrate in kind by 43.7% compared to the same period last year - up to 129.212 thousand tons. According to statistics released by the State Customs Service of the country, in monetary terms, the export of titanium-bearing ores and concentrate decreased by 18.6% to $47.247 million.
