Ukraine must pay $ 80.3 billion in public debt by the end of 2019. This is evidenced by the data of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. According to the exchange rate of the National Bank as of Tuesday, October 8, the amount corresponds to 3.3 billion US dollars. At the same time, Ukraine should pay 8.96 billion hryvnia on its external debt, and UAH 71.33 billion on its internal debt.
Next year, Ukraine will have to pay off UAH 181.09 billion of external and UAH 217.08 billion of internal debts, according to the news agency "Ukrainian News ".
Earlier, Bohdan Danylyshyn, Chairman of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine, noted that over the three summer months the state should pay $ 1.8 billion of external debts, and only in September - $ 1.7 billion.
Recall that at the end of September the international credit rating agency Standard & Poor 's (S&P) raised Ukraine's long-term sovereign credit rating in foreign and national currencies from "B- " to "B ".
The S&P explained their decision by increasing foreign exchange reserves, increasing economic growth and reducing the budget deficit. It is also noted that the new government is apparently committed to maintaining macro-financial stability, liberalizing the economy and reaching agreement on a new program with the International Monetary Fund.
On September 11, a mission of the International Monetary Fund arrived in Ukraine. The purpose of the mission's negotiations with Ukrainian officials was to obtain a recommendation for the IMF board of directors to open a new cooperation program for Ukraine. This loan program should start before the end of this year.
