System operator "Ukrenergo" limits the maximum volume of import of electricity from Russia and Belarus in the unified energy system (UES) of Ukraine due to low demand, which occurs due to the relatively warm weather and low consumption. This was during a meeting of NCRCP on 10 December Chairman of the operator Vsevolod Kovalchuk.
"In this organization, you see, we have a situation of low demand continues, and because of the weather and because of the low level of industrial production, so we are limited opportunities for importers by making adjustments to the graphics. At night they all go "the zeros" in some afternoon hours a small volume of import was going on," he said.
According to Kovalchuk, under such conditions today importers has a significant interest to buy section on the border with Russia and Belarus.
"To the end of the month of December is very difficult to predict whether significant amounts of imports that we saw in the first half of October," - said Kovalchuk.
