Zaporozhye Ferroalloy Plant Reduced Production by 40.2%

The Zaporizhzhya Ferroalloy Plant (ZPF) in January this year reduced production by 40.2% compared to the same period last year - to 14.34 thousand tons.

As reported to the agency "Interfax-Ukraine " in the Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Producers (UkrFA) on Monday, in January this year, the plant reduced the production of silicomanganese by 38.2% - to 7.46 thousand tons, ferrosilicon - by 56 , 6%, up to 3.36 thousand tons, ferromanganese - by 1.2%, up to 3.37 thousand tons. The enterprise also reduced the production of metallic manganese by 79.7% - to 0.15 thousand tons.

As reported, ZPF in 2019 increased its output by 1.9% compared to 2018 - up to 250.91 thousand tons. Last year, the plant increased the production of silicomanganese by 17.2% - up to 145.21 thousand tons, but decreased ferrosilicon - by 17.1%, to 62.56 thousand tons, ferromanganese - by 5.9%, to 37 thousand tons. tons. At the same time, the enterprise reduced the production of metallic manganese by 17.7% - to 6.14 thousand tons. ZZF is one of three Ukrainian manufacturers of these products. The share of the domestic market in its supplies is 30-35%. Products are exported to the CIS countries, the European Union, Asia, Africa.

The enterprise imports manganese ore in order to achieve the required chemical composition of ferroalloys. The business of ZPF, NZF, Stakhanovsky ZF (located on the NKT), Pokrovsky (formerly Ordzhonikidzevsky) and Marganetsky mining and processing plants before nationalization was organized by PrivatBank.
