during his working visit to Poltava region President Vladimir Zelensky visited the plant of PJSC "AvtoKrAZ" in search of the businessman Konstantin Zhevago. During the visit, the President met with General Director of the plant Roman Chernyak. According to the press service of AvtoKrAZ, they discussed a number of issues that relate to areas of work of the plant, number of orders, localization of production, problems that await solutions, in particular spoke about the lack of government programs to support domestic enterprises.

Also Vladimir Zelensky visited an exhibition — the range of KrAZ vehicles for civil and military purposes: the KrAZ-Cougar, KrAZ-Spartan, KrAZ-Hulk, KrAZ Shrek, KrAZ-Fiona, KrAZ Shrek-M, tanker KrAZ-5233НЕ, KrAZ-5401В2, van KrAZ-5233Н2, dump truck KrAZ-6511С4, chassis KrAZ-5401Н2, KrAZ - 63221 (with engine Euro 6), the dump truck KrAZ-5401Н2, a combined road car KrAZ-5401С4. Interested in the cockpit of the last, expressed a desire to sit behind the wheel of KDM.
According to General Director Roman Chernyak, in 2015-2016, AvtoKrAZ supplied to the Armed forces of Ukraine a thousand cars a year. But then the orders started to fall, and in 2018 the orders have stopped.
the Director appealed to the President asking for support of the enterprise order. According to him, the technique of "AvtoKrAZ" could be "the backbone of the Ukrainian army."
Vladimir Zelensky said that the enterprise should be the plan of production and encouraged to apply for the tender proposals, but these proposals have to be honest, especially in respect of the conditions of production and deadlines.
Also, it was emphasized that the plant should not only focus on making cars for the army, but to work toward the production of special equipment for utility companies, local communities, the private sector.
At the same time, Vladimir Zelensky said that "AvtoKrAZ" should focus on improving product quality, its technical characteristics and to meet the deadlines for execution of orders.
He stressed that for the resolution of questions on the exit of the enterprise from crisis, its owner Constantine Zhevago, has to "get in touch" with the government, including to the enterprise acquired the government contracts.
Earlier today, the President visited Krukovka carriages, which promised to facilitate placement of state orders for 90 cars and 3 diesel trains. He also noted that it is necessary to begin to provide state support to industrial enterprises and to develop a targeted programme of support for the Ukrainian industry.
