2-3 March 2020 on the basis of the International management Institute (Kyiv) hosted the interdisciplinary event, a platform of ecological and technological solutions, organized Ecobusiness group and the Professional Association of ecologists of Ukraine. "Zaporizhstal" presented case studies of ecological modernization of the plant.
the Chief of management of environment protection of JSC "Zaporizhstal" Inna Kholina focused participants ' attention on the unique experience of "Zaporizhstal" to equip the industrial units of the most modern of the existing gas – cleaning systems with bag filters. Since 2012, "Zaporizhstal" equipped with bag filters for each of the six sintering machines of sintering plant of Zaporizhstal is at the moment in Ukraine there are no analogues of such highly efficient gas cleaning in the industrial sector. Environmental effect of the project is to reduce dust emissions by 90% and sulfur oxides by 50%.
"From 2012, "Zaporizhstal" has sent ecomodernism plant about 15 billion hryvnia. This allowed us to significantly reduce the burden on the environment and to reconstruct fully the blast-furnace and rolling stages," – said Inna Choline.
Interest among the conference participants caused the projects of "Zaporizhstal" on ecological reconstruction of blast furnaces with the installation of modern aspiration systems of cast yards and bunker overpass, the construction of the only in Ukraine hydrochloric acid pickling line in cold rolling shop No. 1, commissioning of the complex return of industrial-storm drains, etc.
President of the Professional Association of ecologists of Ukraine, chief editor of "Ecobusiness" Lyudmila Tsyganok stressed that "Zaporizhstal" is included in the narrow circle of the enterprises that systematically implement environmental projects and deservedly received a major environmental award "the Leaders of Cotransformation".
