As told in the press service of AMKR, the company gradually refuses from obsolete technologies to provide modernisation of production facilities with the implementation of environmental projects.
Now the first section of the blooming already disconnected from the power supply, except for emergency lighting and alarm systems security. Earlier measures have been developed to maintain the health of the necessary equipment, all emergency and drainage systems of the object.
Closing the first section of the blooming mill was made possible thanks to the implementation of the investment program of the enterprise for the construction of new modern units and modernization of existing ones.
the reconstruction of the small-section mill No. 250-4 and construction of new machines continuous casting machine (CCM) provided the opportunity to optimize the steelmaking process to make it faster and more environmentally friendly.
Formerly "ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog" has released a rebar exclusively with rolled billets produced by casting into ingots and rolling on the blooming mill. During reconstruction, the small-section mill No. 250-4, the company will be able to produce rebar from cast billets 150x150 mm, made in continuous casting of steel.
Stop the work of the first phase of the blooming will also provide environmental benefits. Will be decommissioned forty sources of emissions of polluting substances into the atmosphere, in particular, thirty-heating wells. This will reduce emissions from these sources by approximately 500 tons a year.
Shop blooming-1 started its work in 1958, has for several years, the company has commissioned a blooming mill 2. In 2015, the first and second blooming "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" were merged into a single workshop comprised of two sections. For more than 60 years of blooming has made a significant contribution to the total output of steel plant. By the time of the stop of the first section of the workshop as a whole has produced more than 183 million tons of finished products. Plot No. 1, shop performed the rolling of square billets of various cross sections (300 × 300 mm, 150 × 150 mm, 130x130 mm, 125х125 mm, 80 × 80 mm) and bandage strips 32х126 mm.
