The crisis in the steel industry may lead to power crisis - MP

If the state does not come to the aid of Steelworkers in the big cities of the South-East there are pockets of social tension. This opinion was expressed by MP Serhiy Mahera.

At the same time S. Magera reminded that the voters of this part of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky actually owe his presidency.

"the Situation is serious. As you know, the Southeast is metallurgy. Major steel plants are located in Mariupol, Zaporozhye, Dnieper, Krivoi Rog and Camenca. Loaded they are now barely two-thirds, although I held a stable level of 90%. Production in industry fell by 30% and continues to fall. The world has fallen sharply the demand for the metal. Plus our government half increased the duty on iron ore. Moreover, the Ukrainian metal is now more difficult to sell, so he also became a less attractive price", - he stressed.

S. Mager warns that in a few months, the steelworks can stop because the work will simply not profitable. "What do you think, for someone in local elections will vote for desperate, unemployed people?", he said.

"the Question is rhetorical. But the consequences are likely to be real. The crisis in the steel industry can be "Shah" to "public servants". And according to the rules of chess, it will certainly be followed by "Mat"" - he concluded.
