Moody's has raised a credit rating of Metinvest to the level B2

International rating Agency Moody's raised the corporate rating of Metinvest B. V. (Metinvest), the parent company of the international vertically integrated steel and mining group of companies, from level B3 to B2, forecast "stable".

the Agency clarify that the increase in the rating of Metinvest is followed by the improvement of Ukraine's sovereign rating to B3 from Caa1, with the result that the country ceiling upgraded to B2 from B3.

the Stable Outlook on the rating of Metinvest corresponds to a stable Outlook on sovereign rating of Ukraine and reflects the expectation of Moody's is that the Group will maintain strong operational and financial performance for its rating level and will maintain good liquidity.

During their evaluation, the Agency took into account the Group's efforts to reduce the impact on the environment and implementing more effective energy saving technologies, to match the best international standards in this area. Last year in environmental projects, Metinvest invested about 384 million dollars, which is 46% higher than such costs in 2018.

"As a vertically integrated Metinvest takes responsibility for the entire production chain and continues to improve the environmental impact of its segments" – according to Moody's.

the Agency Also noted the decrease of corporate governance risks due to the fact that Metinvest demonstrates a good level of disclosure, including regularly publishes consolidated financial statements and quarterly operating results.
