At the Mariupol Metallurgical Plant Azovstal, Metinvest Group optimized the content of expensive alloying elements in the production of sheet steel grades S690Q and S690QL, ensuring compliance with the required characteristics.
S690Q flat products are used in the production of mining and heavy equipment, cranes, as well as in the construction of supports, bridges and flyovers. S690QL products are widely used in welded structures, machine parts and tools.
Optimization of the production of these types of rolled products will help the company to save 1.73 million hryvnia per year.
According to the press service of Azovstal, the plant will produce more economical, but high-quality products, reducing the content of nickel and molybdenum, increasing the content of carbon and manganese in steel. At the same time, the modes of heat treatment - quenching with tempering - remain unchanged.
