Issues of energy security of Ukraine were raised during the meeting of the acting Minister of Energy Olga Buslavets and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine Valdemaras Sarapinas.
According to the Ukrainian side, the priority for it is synchronization with the European system ENTSO - E and now preparations for this are going on in accordance with the approved plan.
The parties also touched upon the topic of import and export of electricity. Olga Buslavets stressed that she is against the import of electricity to Ukraine from Russia and Belarus.
“Recently, the forecast balance of electricity for the next year was approved, which does not provide for imports or exports from Belarus and Russia,” she said. Minister.
She also informed the Lithuanian side of her intention to sign the Technical Agreement on Ukraine's accession to the NATO Energy Security Center of Excellence.
"This will allow us to draw on the experience of advanced countries and strengthen our energy security," Olga Buslavets clarified.
Separately, the head of the Ministry of Energy emphasized that active work is now underway to strengthen the cybersecurity of the energy sector of Ukraine.
The parties also discussed promising directions in the energy sector of Ukraine. These are, in particular, the development of renewable energy, energy efficiency, hydrogen energy, smart technologies. Separately, the parties dwelled on possible cooperation between Ukraine and Lithuania in the field of renewable energy, in particular, the development of the potential of bio-raw materials, and agreed to continue a constructive dialogue on this issue.
