Ukrainian Ministry of Energy joins NATO Energy Security Center

Today, during the visit of the President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda to Ukraine, Acting Ukrainian Energy Minister Yuriy Vitrenko signed a Technical Agreement providing for the Ministry of Energy to join the NATO Energy Security Center of Excellence.

The institutions responsible for work in the field of energy security in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the United States of America have also become signatories to the Agreement.

“From now on, Ukraine will have the same access as the NATO member states to the opportunities for the Alliance to support the potential development processes. We will be able to receive full, timely, high-quality expertise on various aspects of energy security and attract the best experience of NATO member states, ”the head of the Ministry of Energy said.

Representatives of the Ministry will take part in international projects of the Center. The Ministry of Energy also delegates its representative to the meeting of the Center's Supervisory Board.
