The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the State Energy Efficiency Agency held an online forum "energy independent regions of Ukraine: how to replace gas, find investments and stimulate business."
The First Deputy Minister of Energy Olga Buslavets took part in the Forum from the Ministry of Energy. She announced the beginning of the transformation of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency, which should become a key cross-sectoral body for the implementation of the state policy of the "green" transition and ensuring sustainable development of Ukraine.
During the event, it was about expanding the priorities of the energy efficiency policy, which should include not only the residential sphere, but also other spheres of the economy: industry, transport, the budgetary sphere, the energy sector.
The importance of maintaining investor confidence and clear rules of the game to attract investment, which is a key factor for energy modernization, energy efficiency and the revitalization of the economy as a whole, was also emphasized.
In addition, their use in the context of hydrogen energy, which has already become a trend in Ukraine and in the world, is considered a potential direction for the effective use of excess capacity in renewable energy sources.
The issues of construction of new shunting generating capacities to ensure reliable operation of the unified energy system of Ukraine were discussed separately. Outdated inefficient CHP plants can become the most suitable site for this. The procedure for holding auctions for the construction of such facilities has already been approved. At the same time, the Ministry has developed changes that improve the rules, shorten the time frame and simplify the conditions for holding auctions for investors. This document is being prepared for government consideration.
