The 7000th melting took place in the electric steel-making shop of Energomashspetsstal (EMSS) at the new modern steel-making complex DSP-70. The anniversary melting took place on the night of December 10-11, 2020.
The new steelmaking complex DSP-70 was commissioned in 2012. The DSP-70 complex includes an arc steel-making furnace, an out-of-furnace steel treatment unit and a modern powerful gas cleaning unit.
The value of unique equipment lies not only in production capabilities, but also in the ability to ensure the European level of environmental safety of production.
The commissioning of the facility was the final stage of the seven-year plant modernization program. For the period from 2005 to 2012, the total investment in the modernization of EMSS exceeded 300 million dollars. The investments were aimed at a complete renovation of the production base of the enterprise, including steelmaking, thermal forging and machining industries.
For today, the maximum weight of an ingot that was produced at EMSS is 415 tons. The production capabilities of Energomashspetsstal allow producing large-tonnage ingots weighing up to 500 tons.
