The Ministry of Economy and the State Employment Center of Ukraine are starting an experiment in vocational training of the unemployed in information technology. The government made the corresponding decision today, January 20, at a regular meeting.
Kiev was designated as the first city, but upon successful completion of the experiment, it is planned to expand it to other cities of Ukraine.
“The Ministry of Economy continues systematic work on employment of the population and helps the citizens of Ukraine find work with a competitive salary. Now the unemployed can get IT qualifications and get a promising job. At the same time, during the training, the payment of unemployment assistance remains, "said Petrashko, Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The participants in the experiment are employers from the IT business, specialized subjects of educational activities and registered unemployed.
The selection of educational institutions will take place according to certain criteria. Thus, the subjects of educational activities must be located within Kiev, conduct training in the field of consulting on informatization, or computer programming, have at least five years of educational experience and an appropriate material and technical base.
The selection of candidates for vocational training is carried out on a voluntary basis from among persons registered at the Kiev city employment center. Training cannot last more than 6 months. And after its successful completion, the employer is obliged to employ the unemployed for at least a year with a fixed wage of at least two minimum wages.
