According to Vladimir Prikhodko, in the field of freight traffic, it is necessary to solve the problem of wagons exceeding the standard operating life within the next 5 years. In general, 72590 units of rolling stock in Ukraine need to be replaced, that is, 12-15 thousand cars must be replaced annually with new ones, the chairman of the supervisory board of PJSC KVSZ believes.
“At the same time, the allocation of funds from the budget is not required - we have state banks that can finance the release of new cars. And credit and leasing rates are compensated by taxes, which will be paid by car builders: revenues to the budgets of all levels will amount to 31 billion hryvnia. GDP growth will be 2.3%. There will be about 15,000 jobs in the car building industry and over 30,000 jobs in related industries, "Prikhodko said at the Infrastructure forum within the framework of the Ukraine 30 All-Ukrainian Forum.
He noted that the transition to innovative rolling stock will ensure the competitiveness of Ukrainian rail transport in the international arena, and domestic manufacturers already have a whole line of innovative cars with a load of 25 tons per axle.
Renewal of worn-out fleets of freight and passenger cars, locomotives, transport with the maximum use of the capacities of the Ukrainian industry will allow to obtain the same effect as from the presidential program of the Big Road Construction, and in some parameters - to exceed it.
“Today we are investing in roads with a perspective of 10-20 years, why not do the same on the railway? It's up to the state approach, long-term budget planning and the conclusion of contracts for a period of 3 years or more, "said the head of KVSZ.
