This week, the Azovstal metallurgical plant of Metinvest Group put into operation converter # 1 after a major overhaul.
Within 20 days, specialists replaced the stationary flue of the OKG-400 boiler, repaired the feed water pipe, the boiler drum and the circulation pumping station, mechanical equipment with the replacement of two hinged gearboxes, revision of support bearings, repair of vertical and inclined protections.
Also, the converter housing was repaired and its lining was carried out, work was carried out at gas cleaning and boiler maintenance and gas cleaning sites.
"In total, the repair cost 60 million hryvnia and will provide us with reliable operation of the unit during the overhaul period," said Azovstal CEO Enver Tskitishvili.
According to him, since the beginning of March, blast furnaces No. 4, 2 and 3 have been successively repaired in the blast furnace shop of the plant. During the repairs, the units were replaced, the cooling and loading systems, the equipment of the stove unit, the electrical equipment complex and others were repaired.
Today all three blast furnaces have been put into operation. Repair costs amounted to UAH 156 million.
