Director General of the Mariupol metallurgical Kombinat "Azovstal" group "Metinvest" Enver Tskitishvili acknowledged that plans for the modernization of coke-chemical production exist, but are being developed for the implementation of all environmental activities in the framework of the obligations under the city program of emission permits.
At the same time he refuted the rumors about the construction of the enterprise two new coke oven batteries.
"At this stage it's about the construction is not conducted at all, especially considering the difficult situation on the steel market. Key investments are now focused on those projects that are already announced and are being implemented currently," said a top Manager of his page on Facebook.
He noted that Metinvest company, which has chosen the vector of sustainable development and is in constant study of investment decisions.
"Yes, we are considering various options for the re-equipment of the complex, but all of this is in an early stage of development. At the moment developed a preliminary technical and economic calculation and selection of the best technology that will take into account the implementation of all environmental activities in the framework of the obligations under the city program and emission permits," - said Tskitishvili.
