According to data, published by the Main Department of Statistics in Donetsk region, in March 2021 compared to March of the previous year there was a decline in metallurgical production and production of finished metal products by 5.5%, and compared to February 2021 in metallurgical production and the production of finished metal products saw an increase of 0.9%.
In January-March 2021, compared to the same period of the previous year, the production volume in metallurgical production and production of finished metal products increased by 0.8%.
In general, the industrial production of Donetsk region (excluding part of the temporarily occupied territory) in January-March 2021 compared to January-March of the previous year increased by 1.3%. In March, production was 1.1% less than in February 2021 and 5.2% less than in March 2020. The decrease in production in March compared to the previous month occurred, despite the larger number of calendar and working days.
According to the Ukrmetallurgprom association, for the first quarter of 2021, the total steel production in Ukraine amounted to 5.29 million tons, or 99.5% compared to January-March 2020. At the end of the quarter, the country occupies the 13th position among 64 countries. steel producers included in the World Steel Association.
