Most national and international oil and gas corporations use premium thread pipes. Therefore, the process of transition of manufacturers to the premium niche has already become a global trend in the pipe industry. Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe aims to increase its share in the premium pipe segment.
Today, May 20, at the international Carpathian Oil & Gas Conference 2021, organized by ExPro Gas & Oil, Interpipe's director for pipe sales to the Ukrainian market Grigoriy Barchukov spoke about the premium UPJ-F connection for oil and gas production, which is currently being used or planned use a limited number of companies in Ukraine.
In Ukraine, wells for hydrocarbon production are deep and complex. Under these conditions, miners need a higher level of pipe tightness called CAL IV. It is against this highest standard in the world that our premium UPJ-F connections are certified and are already used by oil and gas companies outside of Ukraine.
“Every year, the technological requirements for pipe products are becoming more complicated, as production becomes more complex and technologically advanced. In Ukraine, well designs and depths are quite serious and require advanced solutions. For Interpipe, as a national producer, the domestic market is important. Therefore, we accompany the descent of pipes into the customer's well, not only in Ukraine, but all over the world, moreover, successfully. This allows us to receive quick feedback from the drillers directly during the operation of the string, ”emphasized Grigory Barchukov.
Interpipe certified its own premium sleeveless connection Interpipe UPJ-F for compliance with the international standard ISO 13679 CAL IV (Connection Application Level) in May 2019. In general, it took the company about a year to develop, master, test and certify a new product. This is the second premium connection with the highest level of gas tightness developed by Interpipe. Earlier, the UPJ-M (Ukrainian Premium Joint) coupling was mastered.
In April of this year, the company completed the shipment of over a thousand tons of premium UPJ-F sleeveless joints certified for the highest level of gas tightness CAL IV to Ukrainian Drilling Company LLC.
