Metallurgical Plant Zaporizhstal of Metinvest Group continues to implement an investment program for the modernization, reconstruction, maintenance and repair of the production equipment of the enterprise. The plant completed a major overhaul of the second category of blast furnace No. 4, the costs of the enterprise for the renovation of the blast furnace amounted to UAH 140 million.
The main work that was performed during the repair: replacement of the charging device, partial replacement of cooling plates, shotcreting of the furnace shaft, repair of charge feeding equipment, electrical, power and mechanical equipment, etc. The aspiration installations of the casting yard and charge feeding will receive a completely new set of filter elements - more than 5600 filter bags will be installed at the aspirations.
As a reminder, Zaporizhstal carried out a large-scale reconstruction of blast furnace No. 4 in 2014 as part of a comprehensive program for the environmental modernization of production facilities. The total investment amounted to about UAH 950 million. During the reconstruction, a modern highly efficient dust and gas cleaning unit was installed on the furnace, which provides a dust concentration at the output of 20 mg /m 3 .
