Third-class overhaul continued around the clock for six days. The blowing up of blast furnace No. 2 will last until the end of this week. The plant allocated more than 85 million hryvnia for the renovation of the blast furnace.
“Specialists from the blast furnace shop and engineering service of Zaporizhstal, together with specialists from Metinvest-Promservice and Zaporozhogneupor, fully completed the planned work to update the second blast furnace. The overhaul was preceded by a thorough preparatory stage, which made it possible to reduce the repair time per day,” noted Roman Slobodyanyuk, General Director of Zaporizhstal.
In total, about 200 specialists from the plant and contractors worked at the site. Among the main works performed were the replacement of the charging apparatus, repair of the foundry yard equipment, hydraulics and lubrication systems, repair of metal structures and rail tracks of the bunker overpass, as well as maintenance of the aspiration systems of the production unit.
The main goal of the repair of blast furnace No. 2 is increasing the reliability of equipment and the consistency of the production process at the blast furnace, improving the quality of products.
We would like to remind you that during the full-scale war, Zaporizhstal allocated more than 1.2 billion hryvnia to update production equipment and treatment facilities operating in the complex. The program's main focus during the full-scale invasion was maintaining and updating equipment to ensure reliable operation in unforeseen conditions.
