Uralelectromed JSC (an enterprise of the UMMC metallurgical complex) is implementing a project to build a new sulfuric acid warehouse. At the moment, the company has already completed the foundations, built the building frame and installed three reception tanks of 45 m³ each. Also, the builders are completing the pouring of the floors and the installation of windows. At the same time, work is underway to improve the adjacent territory and lay communications.
The new warehouse will allow JSC Uralelectromed to bring the storage of sulfuric acid to a fundamentally new level of ensuring the chemical safety of workers. With the help of energy-saving technologies, the efficiency of pumping products to production halls will increase.
The area of the warehouse building will be 750 m². The territory will house three storage tanks for sulfuric acid (2 workers and 1 reserve) and a pumping room consisting of five pumps. Two of them will be used to receive sulfuric acid from railway tanks, the rest will be used for its distribution to workshops through pipelines. The pumps will be equipped with a mechanical seal, which will significantly reduce the risk of leakage. Also, modern measuring equipment and an alarm system will be installed in the warehouse.
Into the technological process an automated system will be integrated that is responsible for the safety of equipment operation, the circulation process, the level of acid in tanks, pressure in pipelines and other parameters.
Next month, delivery of the technological equipment necessary for the installation of systems for receiving and dispensing sulfuric acid is expected consumer workshops: pumps, valves and automation systems.
The new warehouse is planned to be launched in December. After that, the existing sulfuric acid warehouse will be dismantled.
