The Polymetal Production Branch of Uralelectromed JSC (an enterprise of the UMMC metallurgical complex) commissioned a raw material sample preparation section of the Technical Control Department (QCD).
- Over the past seven years, sample preparation volumes have grown by 36% - today we process more than 50 types of raw materials. Working in modern conditions will increase labor productivity and reduce the time for sample preparation, - said Oleg Garenskikh, head of the Branch's Quality Control Department.
The new site is actually a smart home with the correct organization of the workplace. Its area is about 1000 sq. meters twice as large as the previous section, which made it possible to place additional equipment in it. All technological units and warehouses for storing samples are installed according to the norms of the workspace organization system - 5S. Special rooms are reserved for storing sample material: it is stored in order, on racks, in accordance with the requirements of the production system.
The production line is designed in such a way that all flows go sequentially in accordance with the technological chain. And the preparation of samples at the grinding stage is carried out in two streams of dredge-containing and copper-containing raw materials.
The site is equipped with the Australian ESSA LM2P mill - one of the best samples of grinding equipment in the world, the Mechanobr-technician Ivch3 grinder, which is used at the final grinding stage trial.
Two modern crucible furnaces for 75 and 200 kg were installed. Until that time, OTK worked on two furnaces, with a total mass of processed raw materials of 60 kg. To clean the air in the working area, cartridge filters and a supply and exhaust ventilation system are installed.
