A traditional holiday - the Corporate Day of Knowledge - was held at the Technical University of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company. It is timed to coincide with the birthday of the engineering university and this year it is celebrated for the sixth time. On this day, the company congratulates first-year students on the successful admission and honors the best corporate teachers, UMMC employees who defended their dissertations.
The festive event is annually attended by UMMC managers headed by the CEO of the company Andrey Kozitsyn. This year is a jubilee for UMMC: in October the company will celebrate 20 years since its foundation. All the more important were the parting words for the future employees, but for now - for the students of the UMMC Technical University, of whom there are already about six hundred, of whom 62 are freshmen.

In autumn days, you somehow understand with particular clarity that everything in the world has its end, but only knowledge is eternal. I want you to try to truly find yourself in four years of study, to take everything from teachers, mentors in production. The teaching staff is a special pride of the university. About 160 corporate teachers are involved in the implementation of professional development programs and in training courses for higher education programs. Their number is increasing every year, which shows the growing interest of UMMC employees in teaching at the Technical University. This year, the best corporate teachers were: Alexey Pirogov, Head of the Energy Projects Efficiency Analysis Department, UMMC; Maria Osipova, Deputy Chief Engineer - Head of the Production System Department of Uralelectromed JSC; Elena Brezhneva, Leading Specialist of the Management Systems Certification Department, UMMC. They received UMMC diplomas, respectively, first, second and third degrees.
Annually in The Day of Knowledge in UMMC is awarded with certificates of honor to those employees who have been awarded the academic degrees of Candidate of Science. In 2019, the following were awarded: Tatiana Platonova, Head of the Epidemiological Department - Doctor-Epidemiologist of the European Medical Center UMMC-Health LLC; Vikentiy Menshchikov, Leading Engineer for the Implementation of New Equipment and Technology, Sredneuralsky Copper Smelting Plant; Anatoly Papchenkov, Head of Energy Audit and Energy Efficiency Department, UMMC; Alexey Usoltsev, Chief Specialist of the Department of Hydrometallurgy and Precious Metals, UMMC.
For active research work, publications in reputable world-class scientific journals were also awarded with certificates of honor of the UMMC: Konstantin Timofeev, head of the research center of JSC "Uralelectromed"; Gennady Maltsev, chief specialist of the research center of JSC Uralelectromed; Anton Emelyanov, Head of the Strategic Analysis Department of the Deputy General Director of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company.
For the second year in a row, TU UMMC summarizes the results of summer industrial practice. During this summer, the students of TU UMMC announced 17 innovations at the enterprises of UMMC. A fourth-year student Danil Tomilov became the leader of the movement of innovators. On his account there are already eight sentences.
In addition, the media activity of students in industrial practice is assessed. Maria Shibanova was recognized as the best production correspondent according to the results of the internship - she had better posts on social networks. And the video competition was won by the production work of the youth team of Uralkabel JSC and student of the UMMC Technical University Alexander Zhiryakov.
