The Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) presented a film dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Volga Pipe Plant (VTZ), which is part of it. The premiere of the documentary "VTZ 55: only together!" took place as part of a film screening for employees and veterans of the enterprise.
The first stage of the production complex was officially commissioned in 1970, while the 25-minute film covers a wider time period and, using archival and modern footage, tells the story of the plant from the beginning of construction and production of the first electric-welded pipe in 1969 to the present.
Special attention in the film is paid to the outstanding specialists of the plant, the introduction of digital solutions to improve production efficiency, modern occupational safety practices, the work of the ecological complex and environmental protection projects of the enterprise, programs for attracting and developing personnel. The film was shot by managers, employees and veterans of the VTZ, as well as students undergoing internship at the plant.
"55 years of the chronicle of the Volga Pipe Plant are inextricably linked with the history of not only the metallurgical industry, but also the entire country. Volga pipe workers kept up with the times, responding sensitively to the changing demands of the economy and industry, developing a production culture and constantly raising quality standards. Combined with the desire to develop new and improve existing technologies, this makes VTZ a unique world—class enterprise," said Sergey Chetverikov, Managing Director of VTZ.
In addition to the premiere of the documentary, the anniversary celebration program of the plant included a ceremony honoring honored metallurgists, the opening of an exhibition of photographic portraits of workers of the electric steelmaking workshop, a festive concert and other events.
