STZ launched an industrial tourism route

The Severskaya Blast Furnace Museum Complex (MK) of the Seversk Pipe Plant (STZ), part of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), has opened for tourists an excursion route "Metallurgy through the ages: from the iron Hammer to the digital plant", during which visitors will be introduced to the history of metallurgy and modern STZ production.

The first visitors of the tour, which everyone can sign up for, were representatives of the tourism industry and the media. The route combined the museum site and the existing production facility. At the first stage, the guests got acquainted with the heritage of the Ural mining civilization and the history of the plant, saw a blast furnace and other industrial equipment of the 19th century. Then the tourists walked through modern workshops with high-tech production, where they observed the smelting of steel in an electric arc furnace and the pipe production process at a modern pipe rolling complex.

Previously, the historical and industrial premises of the STZ could be visited by business partners of the enterprise, students of colleges and universities. The new full-fledged route will open the STZ to a wide audience, introduce residents of the Sverdlovsk Region and other regions of the country to the industrial heritage of the Urals and advanced technologies of the Russian metallurgical industry.

"Modern metallurgical production is interesting to a wide audience — not only the Urals, but also residents of other regions and countries want to see a modern and environmentally friendly plant, to get first-hand information about the production process of steel and pipes. It is important for us to demonstrate our capabilities and introduce guests of all ages to the history of the industry, while this new knowledge will be of particular importance to young people – schoolchildren, students of technical schools and universities. In combination with vivid impressions, they have a sense of belonging, because every tenth field resident works at the STZ. The tour can be a starting point in choosing a profession," said Managing Director Dmitry Markov.

"We can confidently say that our route is unique. Even in the Urals, a region with great industrial traditions, there is no opportunity to see both industrial heritage and advanced technologies. Visiting the Seversk blast furnace and the main factory workshops allows you to form a comprehensive impression of the rich traditions and achievements of metallurgy, see the path traveled by the plant over the centuries, and get vivid impressions of the power of modern production. We are also working on launching new routes at the Sinarsky Pipe Plant and the Chelyabinsk Metalwork Plant," said Anna Trepalova, Head of TMK's industrial tourism department.

"In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in interest in the Seversk blast furnace
