The championship of professional skills of young specialists of the Turkic-speaking countries TurkicSkills-2025 was held in Aktau on October 3-9. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, NAO Talap and Akimat of Mangystau region. Its main goals were to strengthen the prestige of working professions, create a professional space and exchange experience between participants from different countries.
TurkicSkills-2025 brought together more than 70 college students and young professionals from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Hungary, as well as 90 experts. The competitions were held in 10 competencies of manufacturing, engineering, information technology, robotics and the service sector.
The partner of the Welding Technologies competence was ESAB— an international manufacturer of equipment and materials for welding and cutting metal. The welders performed competitive tasks on technological equipment: Rustler EM 350C PRO Synergic units with an Exeor MIG 315 R4 Torch, as well as Rogue ET 230iP AC/DC kit inverters. In addition, the workstations were equipped with cabinets for piercing SDE-50 electrodes and G-TECH electrode sharpening devices.
The skill assessment was conducted according to WorldSkills international standards, taking into account the criteria of accuracy, quality of welded joints and compliance with technological processes. In order not to worry about the quality of consumables when performing difficult tasks, the participants used ESAB products: UONI 13/55 electrodes in vacuum packaging, Weld G3Si1 and OK PRO 71 wires, OK Tigrod argon arc welding rods (12.64, 308LSi, 5356).
"The development of professional competencies and the training of a new generation of specialists is an integral part of ESAB's mission in Central Asia. We see the high interest of young people in working professions and new technologies, and we are proud that our equipment helps them improve their skills and confidently move into the profession," said Ekaterina Tatarinova, Director of ESAB Kazakhstan LLP, Head of the ESAB Central Asia and Caucasus region.
Experts and judges highly appreciated the professionalism of the participants, their commitment to mastering advanced welding equipment and technologies, and improving their skills. According to the results of the competition, Ilmurat Karim from the Almaty Construction and Technical College took the first place.
