As part of the initiative, during TMK's anniversary April, at FC Ural's home matches, children with disabilities from the Sverdlovsk Region, accompanied by honored veterans of the club, will make a solemn symbolic kick to the ball at the beginning of the match.
The first such match with the Chaika team took place at the Yekaterinburg Arena on April 5. For a symbolic blow, the young football player Lev Kutygin, the winner of the regional athletics and football competitions under the Special Olympics program of the Sverdlovsk region, took the field. He was accompanied by Valery Voitenko, a veteran of Ural football, champion of the USSR, Master of Sports of the USSR, who played more than 200 matches for FC Ural. The next similar matches will be held on April 12 and 22.
The children participating in the project are wards of the public charity organization DISpO—Center, which has been operating since 1995 and is a grantee of the Sinara Foundation. The Center is engaged in the social and physical adaptation of people with disabilities through sports, as well as the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among different groups of the population, including socially vulnerable children and adolescents. The center's wards include children and young people with mental disabilities, musculoskeletal disorders, hearing and vision.
