Uralmekhanobr design mining enterprise "Bear Creek" for Norilsk Nickel

JSC "uralmekhanobr" (scientific-research and design Institute of UMMC) will make the General engineer of the mine "polar" Deposit "Norilsk-1", the testing of which is OOO "Bear Creek" (MMC "Norilsk Nickel").
to expand an operating mine is involvement in the process of extraction of the remaining reserves of sulphide copper-Nickel ores of the Deposit "Norilsk-1" and increase the production capacity of the mine to 9 million tonnes of ore per year.
– the Main feature of this project is the fact that mined the mine "polar" in combination, that is, open and underground method almost simultaneously, – said chief engineer of JSC "uralmekhanobr" Oleg Semakin. – During development, we faced a rather difficult geological and climatic conditions of particular fields, which resulted in specific technical solutions.
Taken on the task of designing technical solutions relate to both open and underground mining of the Deposit. Now ore underground mine is transported to the concentrator by locomotive haulage, and extracted in the open way - truck. In the future the extracted raw materials to the factory will be directed on an underground trunk conveyor. Its length will be about 3 km.
as a result of implemented technical solutions, the unit costs of the enterprise "Bear Creek" on the mining operations and the cost price of extracted ore at the mine "polar" will be considerably reduced.
the Design documentation performed by the specialists of JSC "uralmekhanobr", the customer must receive in the beginning of 2020 for the passage of necessary examinations, technical support which will hold JSC "uralmekhanobr".
for a given production capacity of the mine to 9 million tonnes of ore per year reserves will last for 29 years working out.
